Day 1

Welcome to the City of Light! Upon arrival in Paris, you’ll be met by your Out World Journeys Ambassador and transferred to your hotel. To get the layout of the city, this afternoon enjoy a city tour with a cruise on the Seine.  

Day 2

Today you’ll visit many of the highlights of the city including Place de la Concorde, Place Vendome, the Tuileries, Opera Garnier and much more. Your expert guide will also show you parts of the city often not visited by tourists. And best of all, during the tour, you’ll learn about the lives of some of the great queer residents of the city including Jean Cocteau, Collette, Proust and many others.  

Day 3

Your tour today brings you to the most visited museum in the world, the Louvre. Your expert guide will bring you front and center with some of the most famous works of art ever created, including Venus de Milo, Winged Victory and of course, the Mona Lisa. You’ll also explore the queer side of art history with insight into the lives and works of DaVinci, Michelangelo and other artists and gain an understanding of the both the artists themselves and queer representation.

This evening, explore Le Marias and it’s wonderful food during a walking tour of the neighborhood. You’ll learn about the areas rich history and enjoy some of the best tastings in the city including local cheeses, beef bourguignon, falafel, wine and more!

Day 4

This morning, you’ll head to the Chateau de Versailles. The most famous palace on earth awaits your discovery. Learn how Louis XIV took his father’s hunting lodge and created the masterpiece we see today. Explore the rooms and art collections before heading the gardens. You’ll also visit the Petite Trianon, where Marie Antoinette went to escape the court and yes, there’s lots of queer kings, queens and royals to talk about!

Day 5

Our focus today is on the Parisian queer community through the centuries. Your guide will take you in the steps of some of the most important queer residents. You’ll pass the locations of famous literary salons, see the cafes where people gathered to exchange ideas and debate and learn how the nonconformist lives of Natalie Clifford Barney, Sylvia Beach, Oscar Wilde, Josephine Baker and many others, shaped and inform our world.

Day 6

The highlight today is your guided walk through Pere Lachaise Cemetery, burial place of famous queer personalities and icons. Considered by many artists an outdoor museum, the cemetery is the final resting place of Marcel Proust, Isadora Duncan, Edith Piaf, Jim Morrison and Oscar Wilde.

Day 7

A free day to explore and enjoy Paris at your own pace!

Day 8

It’s time to say au revoir – transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
